Fui convidada pela Casa Catarino para criar um mural para o novo espaço deles na cidade de São Carlos. O projeto tinha como desafio integrar a arte do painel à arquitetura original do edifício de interesse histórico e transformá-lo no ponto de destaque da nova área construída. O tema escolhido para o mural, “O TEMPO”, pautou-se nas seguintes considerações:
- A nova fase da Casa Catarino
- O tempo como imagem do "antes e depois"
- Tratar-se de uma construção de interesse histórico, localizada na região histórica da cidade.
I was invited by Casa Catarino to create a mural for their new space in São Carlos. The challenge was to integrate the panel art with the original architecture of a building with historic interest and transform it into the high point of the new constructed area. The theme chosen for the mural, “THE TIME”, was based on the following considerations:
- The new phase of Casa Catarino
- The time represented as a flow between the before and after, in a single image
- It is a building of historical interest, located in the historic area.
Além do partido artístico, o proprietário solicitou que alguns elementos fossem inseridos na arte: o trem e o relógio da estação ferroviária (referência à localização do restaurante), o café, churrasco e comida mexicana (referências ao cardápio do restaurante) e por fim a caveira (simbolizando a igualdade entre os humanos).
In addition to the artistic design, the owner requested that some elements be inserted in the art: the train and the clock of the railway station (reference to the location of the restaurant), the coffee, barbecue and Mexican food (references to the restaurant's menu) and finally the skull (symbolizing the equality between humans).
A paleta de cores solicitada pelo arquiteto, foi inspirada na arte "O Nascimento de Vênus, de Botticelli" e variação no tom das cores, foi feita com a intenção de representar fluidez do tempo no desenho.
The color palette requested by the architect was inspired by the art "The Birth of Venus, by Botticelli" and the variation in the tone of the colors was made with the intention of representing the fluidity of time in the design.
A intenção do desenho foi “criar" uma arte que lembrasse um painel de azulejos, com os elementos representados através do flat design.
The intention of the design was to "create" an art that resembled a panel of tiles, with the elements represented through flat design.
